Privacy Policy — Focus Beacon: Habits & Goals

App package: com.chenangowebdesign.focus (Android, distributed via Google Play)
Last updated: July 5, 2026

The short version: Focus Beacon stores everything on your device and nowhere else. We don’t collect, transmit, share, or sell any of your data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no ads.

1. Introduction

This privacy policy explains how Focus Beacon: Habits & Goals (“the app,” “we,” “our”) handles your information. The app is developed by Chenango Web Design LLC and distributed exclusively through the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Focus Beacon is a personal productivity app that includes a focus timer, a daily habit tracker with streaks, a goals section, a “whys” section for personal motivations, a library of motivational quotes, a focus session history log, and customizable reminders. Because everything it does happens entirely on your device, our privacy practices are simple — and this policy explains them in plain language.

2. What Information We Collect

We do not collect any information.

When you use the app, you may create content such as: habits (“battles”) and their streak history; goals with optional photos and notes; “whys” (personal motivations) with optional photos and notes; focus session history; and reminder and notification preferences.

All of this content is stored only on your device, in the app’s private local storage. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers, no cloud sync, and no user accounts or sign-in of any kind, so we have no way to see, access, or receive anything you enter into the app.

Under Google Play’s Data Safety definitions, this app collects no data and shares no data.

3. How Your Information Is Used

The content you create is used solely to make the app work for you on your device — for example, showing your habit streaks, displaying photos you’ve attached to a goal, keeping your focus history, and triggering the reminders you’ve scheduled. It is not used for any other purpose.

4. Data Storage and Security

All app data is stored locally on your device using Android’s standard app storage (such as SharedPreferences and local files) in a location private to the app. This storage is protected by your device’s built-in security. Because no data ever leaves your device, there is no data of yours held by us to be breached, leaked, or misused on our end.

One practical note: because there is no cloud backup or account, your data lives only on your device. If you uninstall the app or lose your device, that data cannot be recovered by us.

5. App Permissions

The app requests only two permissions, and both are optional:

Notifications (Android 13+ POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used only to display local reminders that you configure yourself — habit reminders, goal reminders, a daily streak nudge, an optional hourly chime, and the focus-timer countdown notification. All notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. The app never receives push notifications from a server, because there is no server.

Photo library access: Used only when you choose to attach a photo to a Goal or a “Why.” The photo you select is copied into the app’s private local storage on your device and is never uploaded anywhere. The app does not access your camera.

The app does not access your location, contacts, microphone, or camera.

6. Third-Party Services

The app contains no third-party services: no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs or ads of any kind, no crash reporting or telemetry, and no third-party data sharing of any kind. Nothing is transmitted off your device, shared with anyone, or sold.

7. Children’s Privacy

Focus Beacon is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone, since the app collects no data at all. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about the app, you can contact us at the email below.

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You are in full control of your data at all times. You can delete individual items in the app — for example, deleting a habit, goal, “why,” or attached photo, or clearing your focus session history — using the app’s built-in delete and clear options. You can delete everything by uninstalling the app, which removes all of its locally stored data from your device. (You can also use Android’s “Clear storage” option in your device settings for the same effect without uninstalling.)

Because we never receive or store your data, there is nothing on our side for you to request access to or ask us to delete — deletion on your device is complete deletion.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the app handles data — for example, if a future version adds a feature that works differently from what’s described here — we will update this policy, revise the “Last updated” date at the top, and, for any significant change, note it in the app’s Google Play listing or release notes. We encourage you to review this page occasionally.
